Eastside Mexican Gangs
Los Angeles County is nearly completely occupied by Mexican gangs. A lot of these barrios/varrios date back to the early 1900's and the men and women who claim these sets have a lot of pride for the history they continue to contribute to. A large number of these gangs have waged war, for racial reasons or not, on the predominately black gangs throughout Los Angeles County. While some Mexican gangs are known to have white and black membership, it's hard to ignore the fact that a race war is taking place right now.
The politics of Mexican gangs is almost more complicated than that of the Bloods and Crips. I'd like to touch on that in the future. Most (but not all) Mexican gangs start their graffiti with the letter "V" for 'varrio" and a lot of the sets claim "13" at the end. No Blood or Crip sets claim 13, as it's only a Mexican thing.
36 Street.
This is a nice example of Mexican gang art. The Old English style is very popular amongst all gangs, but especially those of Latino background. I know nothing about this gang, only that they are located on the Northeast side of South Central. If anyone has any info, feel free to share it with us.
38 Street.
]This gang is located in the same general area as 36 Street, but are very well known for fueding with black gangs. Many Crip and Blood sets are sworn enemies of 38 Street and you'll notice in a previous post we did about the 52 Pueblos that they have "38K" in their graffiti. This is a very simple tag, but they had their set written everywhere. Definately a gang that plans on trying to take over as much turf as they can in the coming years.
Watts Varrio Grape Street
Watts is one of the most infamous areas in Los Angeles, and probably the United States. It's not a very large area, located north of Compton, West of Paramount and South of Florence. It's literally jam-packed with gangs of all shapes and sizes. This Varrio claims Grape Street which is a street that goes vertically through Watts, North & South.
There will be more detailed info on Mexican gangs coming soon. These are just small examples.

SC 36st Gang is a newer gang on the scene.
SS 38st is an older varrio that has ties to the infamous "Sleepy Lagoon" incident.

I grew up in Los Angeles all my life.what im about 2 tell you is truth from my experience.I grew up in a area that was predominately black.It was a blood area.There were 2 mexican gangs also in the hood.There was a new latino gang starting,they were bloods.From about 1984-1990 they claimed blood.One of the members of the latino bloods went 2 prison and changed the gang.They became surenos.Some of the members did not change over so fast it took some years.now the gang is straight 13 now.There are other latino gangs who started out blood or crip but soon changed over when some1 went 2 prison.What im writing is not 2 disrespect any latino gang or black gang its just that people sometimes 4 some reason wont tell the truth.See this is the perfect time 4 for the latino gangs to strike at black gangs.Black people have moved out of certain areas especially east watts and south central.The same latino gangs that attack black gang members on sight or black males on sight could not and would not do this 10 years ago.Its a numbers game and latinos have that 2 their advantage now.For example F13 a latino gang and eastcoast crips beef could not have happened in the late 80s and mid 90s because ther were just as many crips in the area at the time.As black people moved out the east coast hoods of 76ecc,89ecc and 59ecc are not as deep as they were inside the territories.This is not a disrespect 2 F13 they are a very strong gang but numbers in those areas are on there side.I can go on and on with examples but i will leave it here 4 now.Peace 2 all man ,woman ,and child

I saw a movie called bastards of the party, a good movie. Made by a guy named bone from Athens park blood gang. Things are this fucked up because groups like the FBI and CIA murderd imprisoned and exiled all the black leaders. Black people have always been conspired against. Sometimes I just think wtf, when will It ever end. Theres a lot of people out there that think what I'm saying Is BS and It's just an excuse etc.
I seriously think that they want the Hispanic gangs to whipe blacks out. There not after black gang members there after black people. Mexican kids join the police force and are legally banging there gang now, I think there plan is to whipe us out. Be honest black gangs are stronger then Mexican gangs In aggresiveness, mexican gangs plan better and are tricker etc and now have numbers on there side. I grew up in WATTS 2 blocks from the Project Watts Crips atleast 6 blocks from Grape St. Used to attend Ritter Elementary School when the Blacks and the Mexicans didn't get along. I was 8 years old, and gettin' punk'd.
I had a neighbor and grew up together, was a homie to me. He was black and his Loc'd name is Shorty. Talk'd about everything homie to homie. The trouble we were gettin' into. With the fools who fuck'd around in school.
I always mob it in the hood of PJ Crips. No matter what it is my hood know what i mean, Watts is my hood. I grew up in Watts, and these fools don't respect.

I would like to rebuttal differently. No Mexican gang in the history of gangs has ever started out as a Crip or Blood. I noticed you didn't name drop any as examples. Once in a while you have an Mexican/Latino in a black gang and vise versa (Cypress Hill is an example of Hispanic blood members and older Grape Street Crips still have Varrio Grape Street tatted). The reason behind why Mexicans don't have crip set or Blood set (like most Asians and Pacific Islanders) is because unlike the afore mentioned groups, Mexicans have never sought the approval of blacks. There is also animosity towards blacks, all Latinos (non black Latinos) have this disdain and disgust for blacks. It's a sentiment implemented by centuries of colonialism. Crips started as reject of the Black Panthers, while the Bloods branched out as rejects of newly formed Crip sets. Black gangs are typically flashy while Mexican gangs are more traditional and impacted and influenced by culture, history, language, patriotism, pride, heritage and more symbolic (this is prevelent in graffiti, tattoos attire and cars). Originally gang rivalry was homogenous meaning it stayed within the race. But as much as blacks try to kick, scream and yell racism, they have been the ones to initiate the first move to racism. Legend has it that the founding member of La Eme, Cheyenne Cadena arrived in San Quintin a bigger black inmate called him out and Cadena shanked him in front of 1000 inmates. More recently ECC tried to gank F13 for their drugs, the Sureños stepped up to the plate, blacks are calling foul and complaining about a war they started themselves.
Blacks just want to victimize themselves. They are the ones started the race wars, they tried to gank Florencia for a drug deal and now they are feeling the consequences of ECC's badly planned move. Ice Cube tried warning you, "Eses deep don't fuck with them boys". You can talk about how blacks are somehow superior (but just remember Canelo knocked out Shane Mosley). The Mexican mafia even has Mara Salvatrucha sporting 13's...and Salvadorans don't get along with Mexicans. The Eses are steadily pushing blacks out their hoods. Compton, South Central and Long Beach are going thru demographic changes.
